SMILE® from ZEISS allows the first Small Incision Lenticle Extraction procedure for minimally invasive laser vision correction. It offers a potentially lower incidence of transient dry eye syndrome and a wider preservation of biomechanical stability.
The Lentil creation is created by the VisuMax Femtosecond laser. This is done by making a small incision allowing lenticle extraction.
A small 2mm incision is all that is required, this typically means the patient can return to normal activity the next day.
SMILE® has ben designed for myopia and astigmatism.
